Matte French Nail!!

Hey everyone, today's post is inspired by my friend Kyla who texted asking where was the best place to find Matte polishes in Canada. You can imagine her surprise when I told her that she didn't have to look further than Wal-Mart to make every polish Matte!

I started off with my Revlon Post Trauma base and over that 2 coats of Sally Hansen's Black Heart, my go-to black polish. Once that was fairly dry, I added a coat of NYC Matte Me Crazy Mattyfing Top Coat.

Then, once that had dried transforming my base into a Matte version of it, I freehanded with Revlon Quick Dry Top Coat the shiny tips and used China Glaze's Cranberry Splash to do the same on my accent nail - adding the top coat after. And voliá!

That's all you need and you have a nice, simple but elegant what I'm calling a Matte French Nail. I have no idea what the actual name is, but that's how I used it to describe it to my Mother.

Every girl should have a Mattifying Top Coat in their collection, it's such a handy tool to transform your normal day polish into something with a twist! And they don't even have to be expensive either! Like I mentioned above, I got mine at Wal-Mart, 2 polishes for $3.00

Do you have any cool nail design to do with matte polish?

ETA: And for some weird reason my middle nail has an indent in it. I wonder what I did to it....

    1. No problem! It's actually pretty funny, but I just did a design with matte this time and it's still working perfectly. And yeah, 2 for $3, you can't get any better than that can you?? Glad you enjoyed it, I'd love to see what you did with it!
