So I haven't yet developed the whole swatching colours on my nails yet, mostly because I don't have the patience for cleaning it up, but what I do have are Swatchicles for you! =]
Here are close-up of the bottles, in order, left to right, Winter Holly and Cranberry Splash by China Glaze and then Holly by Zoya, and C-C-Curious, also by China Glaze.
First up, my absolute favourite, and I'm totally in love with this colour, is Winter Holly by China Glaze. It's this beautiful shimmery green, that really conveys the Holiday spirits. It automatically reminded me of mistletoe and all the glitter that comes with Christmas. One thing I was surprised though, is how Matte it actually ended up being when dried up. You can definitely feel the glitters, which are different shades of green, I think light, dark, and some gold thrown in there. This was 2 coats. I tried another swatch with one layer of top-coat over it, but there wasn't any noticeable different. It's still a beautiful colour though, and I highly recommend it.
Keeping on with the China Glaze Holiday Joy 2012 Collection, this next one is called Cranberry Splash! It's very true to its name, this is a very deep, shimmery red. There's really nothing more I can say about this colour, I've already used it on my own nails and I can tell it's going to be my go-to red colour. I was Little Red Riding Hood for Hallowe'en and I didn't even think twice about picking this up. It's beautiful, seductive, and very festive for any occasion, really. Smooth application, this was 2 coats.
I'll be honest, one of the reasons that I picked up C-C-Curios, by China Glaze (Wizard of Ooh Aaz Collection) was because I needed one more polish to get free shipping. And this colour stood out to me as a pretty shimmery purple. That's pretty much what it is. It looks kinda of blue sometimes, depending on the light and on the polish you realize that there are actually some flecks of glitter in there. Not entirely in love with it, but it's a beautiful purple regardless. This was 2 coats.
And last, but not least, Holly by Zoya. It's a gorgeous deep shade of green, just enough shimmery, easy application, and subtle enough that you can wear it on a daily basis without too much attention coming to your nails. But at the same time, it's green, and has a smooth look to it. I'm curious as to how Winter Holly would look over this, it amused me that they both had "Holly" in their names.
Well, that's part one of Nail Mail swatches! I'll probably get around to posting the Green Trio soon enough, but I had to post these, if you want more China Glaze Holiday Joy 2012 swatches, head on over to Very Emily's blog, she did a great post on all the other colours that I didn't get.
The only bad thing about these colours are that I want to wear them now, but I feel like Hallowe'en isn't even over yet, I can't just jump into Christmas! ....Or can I?? ;-]
I reaaaallly want Winter Holly. I sense a trip to buy some China Glaze in the near future.
ReplyDeleteDo it dude, you won't regret it! It's so beautiful and I'm really happy Hallowe'en is over so I have an excuse to do some Christmasey themed stuff. xD
